Single Herbs

Herbal medicine is defined as the practice of using a plant’s roots, flowers, berries, bark, or other parts as a treatment for an ailment. Using herbs to treat medical problems dates back several centuries, thus a large body of observational knowledge is available to us now about its uses. Herbal therapies are the preferred alternative to prescribed drugs, as they do not carry unwanted side effects when used appropriately.

FLOWER ESSENCES

Flower essence therapy aims to heal the emotional body. Each type of flower carries its own vibrational quality within it. When soaked in distilled water and infused with UV light and/or crystal energy, the petals impart their healing vibrations into the water. The essence is then preserved in glycerin or an alcohol product to keep it fresh and active for a longer period of time. Each type of essence addresses a different emotional imbalance within the body, and gradually heals and dissipates it. This type of therapy is very gentle and gradual; one should expect results over weeks and months, not hours.

CHINESE HERBS

The ancient Chinese learned through observation the effects of different combinations of herbs on the body. Most of the herbal blends have 7-10 different solitary herbs within them, and all work together to heal the body of a certain deficiency or excess (see my acupuncture page for the explanation of this).

Bowenwork

Bowenwork is a gentle, manual therapy that works on releasing the fascial planes in the body. The fascia is a web of interconnected fibers that wrap around all of our muscles, bones, joints, organs, etc, and promote smooth movement in the body. By releasing the fascia in certain areas, the body is put into a relaxing parasympathetic "rest and digest" state, which allows profound healing at a deep level. It also allows tissue relaxation over the fascial planes, which creates a lengthened stride, and pain relief.

Bowenwork can be a powerful tool in helping the animals release emotional tension as well. Abused, fearful, or untrusting animals benefit greatly from this therapy.

Kinesiology Taping

Kinesiology taping (K-taping) supports your animal’s natural healing processes by improving circulation and relieving pain. By subtly lifting the skin, the elastic tape enhances lymph drainage and blood flow, reducing swelling and soothing sore muscles or joints. It activates sensory neurons, which alert the brain to change its signaling to that area. It provides targeted structural support without restricting your pet's natural range of motion, making it excellent for rehabilitation, chronic conditions, or athletic recovery.
